Madleena Larivaara Architect MAA

For me there are a few special words to describe good architecture. First, and perhaps most important, there should be some quality in the space, materials and structure which touches ones soul. Creating a story line and an experience through architecture is the starting point of designing that kind of architecture that I see fascinating. One important word is the site. The architecture should always have a relationship to its surroundings, to its history, present and the future. Another important goal is an attempt to create innovation. This can exist in a new way of using materials as well as in a creative combination of form and structure. Nature is an endless source of inspiration for me, and regarding to my fi nnish roots, it is grown into me as much as it is present in my architecture.
